Thoughtful, zero waste design for ‘Animal Kingdom’ through creative direction, strategy and a focus on being sustainable

Created at Wari Watai Design Studio as the Senior Graphic Designer for an internal passion project.

Animal Kingdom, a series fun-to-assemble handcrafted paper animals, becomes an intriguing artwork in which the negative spaces of the cut outs are used to show a world without our fellow creatures. The dual purpose packaging turns into a smart frame so you can hang your new art piece on your wall.

The project was exhibited at the 5th Edition of Raw Collaborative as part of Wari Watai’s story:
The Earth Series.

My role as project lead was not only in creative direction & strategy but also included co-ordination with the team (copywriter, product designer, illustrator and junior graphic designer), packaging design and its’ graphics and seeing the project through for its final production with the print and assembly vendors.

The black and white screenprinted illustration in the frame was done by Anuvrat Dahiya, junior graphic designer at Wari Watai.

The Animals were designed by Suraj Pai, product designer at Wari Watai.

Eco-printed Wall-hangings (backdrops) produced at Wari Watai by Aanchal Bagalwadi, textile designer.
